NEISD school board elections are coming up in May 2026
The school board makes important decisions about curriculum, facilities, and even school closures.
For many NEISD parents and community members, school board elections weren't a high priority until their child's school was closed. At that point, many of us realized that participating in NEISD school board elections can have a huge impact on our students' day-to-day educational experiences.
The board makes many important decisions for our district, including choosing curriculum, setting discipline policies, deciding which facilities to invest in for updates, and which programs and even schools should continue to operate for our students.
How to Get Involved with NEISD School Board Elections
Register to Vote
Ensure that you are registered to vote at your current address before April 2, 2026.
Find Your SMD
Find out which single member district your address is located in. Elections will be held for SMDs 2, 3, and 7.
